Summary

Zak Designs is recalling approximately 178,000 plastic 26-ounce water bottles sold exclusively at Target. The inner plastic straw in the flip-top portion of the cap can break into small pieces, posing a choking hazard. There have been nine reports of the straws breaking, including seven instances where children spit out plastic fragments while using the bottles. These 10-inch-tall bottles feature popular characters like Minions, Spiderman, and Star Wars and were sold during a "Back-to-College" promotion.

Risk

The internal plastic straw can fracture during use, causing small plastic fragments to enter the user's mouth, which poses a serious choking risk to children. Nine incidents of breakage have been reported to date.
