Daimler Trucks North America, LLC: Freightliner and FCCC Vehicles Recalled for Failing Windshield Wipers

Summary

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 57,504 vehicles, including various 2020-2022 Freightliner Business-Class M2 and FCCC models, as well as 2021-2022 Freightliner 108SD and 114SD trucks. The windshield wiper linkages in these vehicles can break, which may cause the wipers to stop working entirely while driving. Dealers will inspect the wiper system and replace the arm and linkage parts as necessary at no cost to owners.

Risk

If the windshield wipers fail during rain or other poor weather conditions, the driver's visibility will be significantly reduced, which increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is one of the affected models: 2020-2022 Freightliner Business-Class M2, FCCC Business-Class M2, FCCC S2G, FCCC S2RV, FCCC SC2 (Shuttle Chassis), or 2021-2022 Freightliner 108SD and 114SD.
  2. Contact an authorized Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair of your windshield wiper arm and linkage parts.
