Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 86,852 vehicles, including certain 2023-2024 Maverick, Ford Bronco Sport, and Mustang Mach-E models. The front windshield wiper motor in these vehicles can fail and stop working entirely. Dealers will inspect the wiper motor and replace it if necessary at no cost to owners. Ford began mailing official notification letters to affected owners on December 6, 2024.

Risk

If the windshield wiper motor fails, the wipers will stop moving, which can significantly reduce the driver's visibility during rain or snow. This lack of visibility increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Confirm if your vehicle is affected by checking your vehicle's make and model year: this recall includes 2023-2024 Ford Maverick, 2023-2024 Ford Bronco Sport, and 2023-2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles.
  2. Contact a Ford or Lincoln dealer to schedule a free inspection and, if necessary, a replacement of the front windshield wiper motor.
  3. If you have additional questions or need help locating a dealer, contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference Ford recall number 24S51.
  4. You may also check your specific Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for open recalls at www.nhtsa.gov/recalls.
