Summary

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 106 of its 2025 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 and EFX school buses because the wheel hub fasteners may loosen. If these fasteners become loose, the wheel can completely detach from the bus while it is in motion. To address this safety risk, dealers will inspect and replace the hub nut retaining system and related axle components for free.

Risk

A detached wheel can cause the driver to lose control of the bus, significantly increasing the risk of a crash involving students and other motorists.
