T.A. Pelsue: Tradesman Fiberlite POD and XL Trailers Recalled for Detaching Tongue

Summary

T.A. Pelsue is recalling 164 of its 2022 Tradesman Fiberlite POD and Tradesman Fiberlite XL trailers because the welded-on trailer tongue may detach from the frame. This failure can cause the trailer to separate from the towing vehicle while in motion, which significantly increases the risk of a crash or injury. T.A. Pelsue will install a bolt-on steel corner cap to secure the connection at no cost to owners.

Risk

The trailer tongue weld can fail, causing the entire trailer frame to disconnect from the towing vehicle without warning, potentially leading to a serious road accident or injury to others on the road.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your trailer model and year to see if you own a 2022 T.A. Pelsue Tradesman Fiberlite POD or a 2022 T.A. Pelsue Tradesman Fiberlite XL trailer.
  2. Contact T.A. Pelsue customer service at 1-303-936-7432 to schedule a free repair.
  3. Arrange to have a dealer or service center install the required bolt-on steel corner cap, which will be provided free of charge.
  4. For additional information or to report concerns, contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
