Summary

About 174,000 My Sweet Love and My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care baby dolls are being recalled because a circuit board in the chest can overheat. This defect causes the surface of the doll to become hot, which has led to 12 reports of incidents, including two cases where consumers suffered burns or blisters on their thumbs. The affected 16-inch dolls wear pink floral outfits and were sold at Walmart stores nationwide between August 2012 and March 2014. Walmart is providing full refunds for all returned dolls.

Risk

The internal electronics in the doll's chest can malfunction and overheat, causing the external fabric and plastic to reach high temperatures. This poses a direct burn hazard to children and caregivers during play or when handling the doll.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately take the My Sweet Love or My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care baby doll away from children.
  2. Identify your doll by checking the clear plastic and cardboard packaging for the name 'My Sweet Baby' and UPC code 6-04576-16800-5.
  3. Check the stuffed article label sewn into the bottom of the doll for a date code starting with the letters 'WM'.
  4. Carefully remove the batteries from the doll to prevent further overheating.
  5. Return the doll to any Walmart store to receive a full refund of the purchase price.
  6. Contact Wal-Mart Stores at (800) 925-6278 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. CT on Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, or visit www.walmart.com and click on 'Product Recalls' for more information.
