Summary

Wahl is recalling about 720,000 cans of Total Care Aerosol Cleaner, Lubricant & Coolant used for hair clippers, trimmers, and shavers. The propellant vapors in the spray can ignite when they come into contact with the hair clippers during use, which has resulted in three reports of the product igniting and one report of a minor burn. These six-ounce aerosol cans were sold at Meijer, Walmart, Amazon.com, and other stores nationwide between June 2009 and October 2013.

Risk

Vapors from the chemical propellant can ignite upon contact with the electrical components or friction of hair clippers, posing a fire and burn hazard. There have been three reports of the product catching fire, including one incident resulting in minor burns to a consumer.
