Summary

Volvo Trucks North America is recalling 2,800 model year 2025-2027 VNL and 2026-2027 VNR trucks. The rear brake modulators on these vehicles may have unprotected electrical connectors that are susceptible to short-circuiting. If a short circuit occurs, the vehicle may lose its anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC). Dealers will inspect the connectors and install a protective cover or replace the modulators as needed at no cost to owners.

Risk

A loss of anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control reduces the driver's ability to maintain control of the vehicle during braking or maneuvering, significantly increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
