Summary

General Motors is recalling approximately 41,376 Cadillac Lyriq vehicles from the 2023 and 2024 model years because the driver's video display screen may unexpectedly go blank while driving. To fix this, dealers will provide a free software update for the video display control module, which can also be completed through an over-the-air (OTA) update.

Risk

A blank video display causes the immediate loss of the speedometer, warning lights, and rearview camera image. Losing access to this critical safety information while the vehicle is in motion significantly increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. This recall involves 2023-2024 model year Cadillac Lyriq vehicles where the driver's instrument and information display may fail to show any information.
  2. Install the software update for the video display control module if you receive an over-the-air (OTA) notification in your vehicle.
  3. If you prefer to have the update performed in person, contact an authorized Cadillac dealer to schedule a free software update for the video display control module.
  4. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 and reference General Motors recall number N252500680.
  5. For additional questions, call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls.
