Summary

Approximately 10,300 bottles of Cabot-branded wood cleaner and wood brightener products have been recalled. A faulty cap seal on the containers can cause the liquid contents to leak, posing a chemical hazard. These products were sold in one-gallon white bottles with a handle, standing about 9 inches tall, at various retailers between August 2016 and September 2016. Valspar is offering a full refund and instructions for safe disposal.

Risk

The faulty cap seals allow the chemical contents to leak out of the bottle. If consumers inhale, ingest, or come into skin contact with the product, it can cause chemical burns and other serious injuries.

  2. Immediately stop using the wood cleaner or wood brightener and move it to a location out of reach of children.
