Nissan North America, Inc.: 2024 Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 Recalled for Seat Belt Defect

Summary

Nissan is recalling 12,019 vehicles, specifically the 2024 Pathfinder and 2024 Infiniti QX60, because a critical seat belt component may be improperly secured. The left-side front seat belt assembly might be missing a rivet in the lap belt pretensioner, which means the seat belt may not function correctly during a collision. Owners will be able to have their vehicles inspected and repaired by a dealer at no cost.

Risk

A missing rivet in the lap belt pretensioner prevents the seat belt from properly restraining the driver or front passenger during a crash. This defect significantly increases the risk of serious injury or death because the occupant may move too far forward or strike the interior of the vehicle during an impact.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder or a 2024 Infiniti QX60 vehicle.
  2. Check your mail for an owner notification letter, which were sent out starting April 18, 2024, or contact your local dealership to see if your specific Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is involved.
  3. If your vehicle is affected, contact a Nissan or Infiniti dealer to schedule a free inspection and replacement of the left-side front lap seat belt pretensioner assembly.
  4. For Nissan customer service, call 1-800-867-7669 and mention recall numbers PD106 or PD107.
  5. For Infiniti customer service, call 1-800-662-6200 and mention recall numbers PD106 or PD107.
  6. For further information or to report concerns, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
