Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling 220 Mopar SVCE KIT- HYBRID BATTERY PACKS with part number 68488244AA. These high voltage battery pack assemblies were manufactured with incorrect fasteners used to secure a 200-amp fuse, which can lead to the generation of excessive heat. This heat can cause the fuse to fail, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power or potential fire risk while operating the vehicle. Dealers will inspect the fuse and battery assembly and replace any damaged components free of charge.

Risk

The incorrect fasteners can cause the 200-amp fuse to overheat and fail. This failure results in a sudden loss of drive power, which significantly increases the risk of a crash.

  1. Identify if your vehicle has been serviced with the affected Mopar SVCE KIT- HYBRID BATTERY PACK (Part Number: 68488244AA).
  2. Contact a Chrysler dealership to schedule a free inspection of the high voltage battery fuse and the battery assembly.
  3. If the inspection reveals damage or incorrect fasteners, the dealer will replace the fuse and/or the entire battery assembly at no cost to you.
