Nissan North America, Inc.: 2021 and 2024 Titan Recalled for Unsecured Air Bag Control Unit

Summary

Nissan North America is recalling 7 of its 2021 and 2024 Titan pickup trucks because the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) may be missing a critical spacer. This missing part can cause the fasteners holding the unit in place to loosen over time, resulting in an unsecured control unit. Owners should contact a Nissan dealer to have the control unit replaced with a properly secured unit at no cost.

Risk

If the Air Bag Control Unit becomes loose, it may fail to detect a crash properly or delay the deployment of the air bags. This failure to deploy as intended significantly increases the risk of injury to occupants during a collision.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is a 2021 or 2024 Nissan Titan affected by this recall (Nissan recall number PD120).
  2. Contact your local Nissan dealer to schedule a free replacement of the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU).
  3. If you have additional questions, you can contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 and mention recall number PD120.
