Summary

Harley-Davidson is recalling approximately 199,419 motorcycles, including 2019-2022 Trike and CVO Trike models and 2020-2022 Touring and CVO Touring models. A software error can cause the brake lights to illuminate even when the rider is not applying the brakes. Authorized dealers will provide free software updates for all affected motorcycles and will also install a new pressure switch on Trike models to resolve the issue.

Risk

If the brake lights turn on unexpectedly, other drivers on the road may become confused about the motorcycle's movement or intentions, which increases the risk of a rear-end collision or other crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your motorcycle is affected by checking your model and year: this recall includes 2019-2022 Trike and CVO Trike models and 2020-2022 Touring and CVO Touring models.
  2. Contact an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer to schedule a free repair; Touring models will receive a software update, while Trike models will receive both a software update and a new pressure switch.
  3. You can contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464 and refer to recall number 0635.
