Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 269 vehicles, including certain 2024-2025 Ford F-150, Bronco, Explorer, 2024 Ranger, 2025 Mustang, and 2025 Lincoln Aviator models. The transmission valve body in these vehicles may have been machined incorrectly, which can cause the transmission to fail to engage reverse gear or cause the vehicle to move forward while the driver is in reverse or neutral. Ford dealers will replace the transmission main control valve body free of charge to resolve the safety defect.

Risk

Unexpected vehicle movement significantly increases the risk of a crash. If the vehicle moves forward when the driver expects it to be in reverse or neutral, it can strike pedestrians or other vehicles without warning.
