Summary

Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling approximately 45 of its 2025 AP Series vehicles. This recall is being issued because the compression fittings on the brake air lines may not have been tightened correctly during manufacturing. This defect can allow the air lines to detach, causing the vehicle's emergency brakes to engage without warning. Altec will provide owners with specific instructions to inspect the lines and a kit to secure them properly at no cost.

Risk

If the emergency brakes activate unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion, the truck may come to a sudden and complete stop. This creates a significant danger to the driver and other motorists, greatly increasing the risk of a rear-end collision or other crash.

What You Should Do

  1. This recall involves 2025 Altec AP Series vehicles where the brake air line fittings may be improperly secured.
  2. Contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 to receive instructions for inspecting your vehicle's brake air lines. Altec's internal reference number for this recall is CSN-3242.
