Summary

PACCAR Incorporated is recalling approximately 1,315 Peterbilt model 579 and 567 trucks from the 2021-2024 model years. The U-bolts used to attach the air tank to the vehicle's chassis may rub against the fuel tank, which can eventually wear a hole through the tank wall. PACCAR will have dealers inspect and trim these bolts and replace any damaged fuel tanks at no cost to owners.

Risk

A hole in the fuel tank can cause diesel fuel to leak onto the roadway or vehicle components, which significantly increases the risk of a fire.
