Summary

Triumph Motorcycles America is recalling approximately 8,849 motorcycles, including various 2022-2024 Bonneville, Street, and Scrambler models. The wiring between the alternator and the main harness connector can short circuit and overheat, potentially causing a fire or a sudden engine stall. Dealers will replace the existing two-piece connector with a more secure in-line crimped solution at no cost to owners.

Risk

The alternator wiring can overheat and short circuit, which significantly increases the risk of a vehicle fire or a crash if the motorcycle loses power while in motion.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your motorcycle's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the NHTSA.gov/recalls website to see if it is included in this recall.
  2. If your motorcycle was previously repaired under a different recall (number 24V785), you must still bring it in for this new, updated remedy.
  3. Contact an authorized Triumph dealer to schedule a free repair, where they will replace the alternator wiring connector with a new single in-line crimped solution.
  4. For further information, contact Triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010 and reference recall number SRAN 641.
  5. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more details.
