Summary

Hyundai is recalling 15,645 of its 2024 Genesis GV70 vehicles because water can leak into the transmission control harness. This leakage can cause a short circuit that may unexpectedly shift the vehicle from Park into Neutral without warning. Owners are advised to always use their emergency parking brake until a free repair is performed by an authorized dealer.

Risk

If the vehicle shifts unexpectedly from Park to Neutral while parked, it can roll away, significantly increasing the risk of a crash or injury to bystanders or occupants.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's identification to confirm it is a 2024 Genesis GV70.
  2. Until your vehicle is repaired, always turn off the ignition and manually engage the emergency parking brake every time you park to prevent the vehicle from rolling away.
  3. Contact an authorized Genesis/Hyundai dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair of the transmission control harness and connector.
  4. If necessary, dealers will replace the harness and internal wiring at no cost to you.
