Summary

Fisker Group Inc. is recalling 7,745 model year 2023-2024 Fisker Ocean vehicles due to a software error in the transmission. The defect may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, which can cause the car to roll away unexpectedly while the driver believes it is in Drive or Reverse. Fisker has released a free over-the-air (OTA) software update to resolve the issue.

Risk

If the vehicle fails to shift into the selected gear, it can roll away unexpectedly, significantly increasing the risk of a crash or injury to the driver, passengers, or bystanders.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is a 2023-2024 Fisker Ocean and verify if the over-the-air (OTA) software update has been successfully installed; the fix was released on March 11, 2024.
  2. Verify the repair status by contacting Fisker customer service at 1-844-347-5371.
  3. Fisker released an over-the-air (OTA) software update on March 11, 2024, free of charge. Owners may contact Fisker customer service at 1-844-347-5371.
