Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 1,412 vehicles, including certain 2024-2026 Ford Explorer and 2024-2026 Lincoln Aviator models. The trailer hitch assembly bolts on these vehicles may be loose, which can cause the hitch to fail while in use. Dealers will inspect and tighten the bolts, or replace them if necessary, at no cost to the owner.

Risk

If the trailer hitch bolts are loose while towing, the trailer could detach from the vehicle or cause the driver to lose control. Either of these situations significantly increases the risk of a crash.
