Summary

Toyota is recalling approximately 9,139 Lexus vehicles, including certain 2015-2022 RC, 2016-2020 GS, and 2022 IS models. The low-pressure fuel pump located inside the fuel tank may fail, which can cause the engine to stall while driving. Dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly with an improved version free of charge.

Risk

If the fuel pump fails, the engine may stall suddenly while the vehicle is in motion. A sudden engine stall at high speeds or in traffic increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is affected by looking for your model and year: 2015-2022 Lexus RC, 2016-2020 Lexus GS, or 2022 Lexus IS.
  2. Contact an authorized Lexus dealer to schedule a free replacement of the fuel pump assembly.
  3. For more information, contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 and mention recall numbers 26LB05 or 26LA05.
  4. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls for additional assistance.
