Summary

Oliver Travel Trailers, INC. (OTT) is recalling approximately 1,304 Elite II trailers from the model years 2009 through 2024. The recall was initiated because the installed towing coupler may not be rated high enough to support the trailer's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Dealers will replace the towing coupler with a correctly rated component free of charge.

Risk

A towing coupler that is underrated for the trailer's weight can fail or break while in use. This could cause the trailer to detach from the towing vehicle while driving, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own a 2009-2024 Oliver Travel Trailers Elite II trailer.
  2. Contact Oliver Travel Trailers (OTT) customer service at 1-888-526-3978 to confirm if your specific unit is affected and to schedule a free repair.
  3. Bring your trailer to an authorized dealer, who will replace the underrated towing coupler with a properly rated one at no cost to you.
  4. If you have additional questions, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
