Summary

Toro has recalled approximately 34,500 TimeMaster and 1,600 TurfMaster lawn mowers because the mower blades can break during use. This recall involves the 2013 Toro TimeMaster 30-inch and TurfMaster 30-inch gas-powered models sold nationwide between November 2012 and October 2013. There have been ten reports of blades breaking, which can pose a serious danger to the operator and people standing nearby. Consumers should immediately stop using these mowers and contact an authorized Toro dealer for a free repair.

Risk

The mower's metal blade can crack or break apart while spinning at high speeds. These broken fragments can be thrown from under the mower deck, potentially striking the user or bystanders and causing serious impact or laceration injuries.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your mower's model and serial number on the decal located on the engine base above the left rear tire to see if it is included in this recall.

  3. Verify if your TurfMaster 30" mower matches Model 22200 (Serial numbers 313000101 to 313007146).
