Summary

Nissan North America is recalling 4,249 of its 2023 Titan and Frontier vehicles because the tires may have a tear in the inner bead. This defect can lead to a rapid and unexpected loss of tire pressure while the vehicle is in motion. Owners of affected vehicles will receive free tire replacements for all four road tires or an inspection and replacement of the spare tire as needed. Notification letters are expected to be sent to owners by June 10, 2023.

Risk

A tear in the tire's inner bead can cause the tire to lose air pressure quickly, which may result in a sudden loss of vehicle control and increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking your registration for a 2023 Nissan Titan or 2023 Nissan Frontier.
  2. Contact your local Nissan dealer to schedule a service appointment for a free inspection of your tires and spare tire assembly.
  3. If the inner bead defect is found, the dealer will replace all four road tires and/or the spare tire assembly free of charge.
  4. For more information, contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 and reference recall numbers PC973 or PC974.
  5. Contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for additional details.
