Summary

Continental Tire the Americas, LLC is recalling 3,472 CrossContact LX25 tires, specifically sizes 235/55R18 100H and 225/65R17 102H. These tires may contain rubber compound contaminated with small metal fragments which can damage the tire's structure. Authorized dealers will replace the affected tires with new ones free of charge.

Risk

Metal contaminants within the tire sidewalls can cause the tire to experience a sudden loss of air pressure. If this occurs while driving, it can lead to a loss of vehicle control and increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your tire sidewalls to determine if you have Continental CrossContact LX25 tires in sizes 235/55R18 100H or 225/65R17 102H.
  2. If you identify these tires on your vehicle, contact Continental customer service at 1-888-799-2168 to arrange for a free replacement.
  3. Visit an authorized Continental tire dealer to have the recalled tires replaced at no cost to you.
  4. For additional information or to check your specific VIN, you can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
