Summary

Dexter Axle Company is recalling 19,808 Goodride ST 200 tire and wheel assemblies, specifically size ST235/80R16 LRE. These tires can develop bubbles in the sidewall that lead to separation and a sudden loss of tire pressure. Dexter Axle will provide free inspections and replace affected tires at no cost to owners. Notification letters were sent to owners starting October 14, 2023.

Risk

The tire sidewall can bubble and separate while in use, causing the tire to lose air pressure rapidly. This loss of pressure can lead to vehicle instability and significantly increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's tire sidewalls for the brand 'Goodride', the model 'ST 200', and the size 'ST235/80R16 LRE'.
  2. Visually inspect the tires for any signs of bubbling, bulging, or separation on the sidewall surfaces.
  3. If you identify these tires on your vehicle, contact Dexter Axle customer service at 1-574-295-7888 to schedule a free inspection and replacement.
  4. You may also contact your local dealer to arrange for the free tire replacement service.
  5. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
