Summary

Apollo Tires (US) Inc. is recalling 194 Vredestein tires, including the Hitrac, Quatrac, and Quatrac Pro+ models, due to a manufacturing defect. A contaminated rubber compound used during production can cause the internal steel belts to separate from the tire structure. To resolve this safety issue, authorized dealers will replace all affected tires with new ones free of charge.

Risk

The internal steel belts can separate while driving, which may cause the tire to fail suddenly. This separation can lead to a loss of vehicle control, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's tires to see if they are Vredestein Hitrac, Quatrac, or Quatrac Pro+ models.
  2. Contact an authorized Apollo Tires dealer to schedule a free inspection and replacement of the affected tires.
  3. If you have questions, contact Apollo Tires customer service by calling 1-877-234-0867 or by emailing contact.us@apollotyres.com.
  4. For additional information, you may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
