Summary

PACCAR Incorporated is recalling approximately 1,110 vehicles, including 2023-2024 Peterbilt models (535, 536, 537, 548) and Kenworth models (T180, T280, T380, T480). The throttle pedal assembly may contain an oversized magnet carrier that can cause the pedal to respond slowly or become stuck in position. Dealers will inspect and replace the affected throttle pedal assemblies free of charge.

Risk

A throttle pedal that sticks or responds slowly can prevent the driver from properly controlling vehicle speed, which significantly increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's model and year to see if it is among the affected Peterbilt (535, 536, 537, 548) or Kenworth (T180, T280, T380, T480) trucks.
  2. Contact a Peterbilt or Kenworth dealer to schedule a free inspection and potential replacement of the throttle pedal assembly.
  3. Follow the official remedy: 'Dealers will inspect and replace the throttle pedal as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 11, 2025. Owners may contact Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220 and Kenworth's customer service at 1-425-828-5888. PACCAR's numbers for this recall are 25PBA and 25KWA.'
  4. If you have further questions, contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
