Summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles is recalling about 1,750 model year 2022 Arctic Cat Alterra 600 and Tracker 600 All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). A fuse in the electrical system can fail during use, which can lead to a sudden loss of engine power and headlights. The firm has received five reports of fuses blowing while vehicles were in operation, though no accidents or injuries have been reported. These vehicles were sold between July 2021 and May 2022 in various colors like green, red, gray, and camouflage. Owners can choose to receive a free repair kit with instructions or bring the vehicle to an authorized dealer for a free repair.

Risk

If the electrical fuse fails while the ATV is moving, the engine and headlights will shut off immediately. This sudden loss of power and visibility creates a significant crash hazard for the operator and others.
