Summary

Target is recalling about 19,000 Magnetic Tic Tac Toe games because the magnets can detach from the game pieces. If these small magnets are swallowed, they can cause severe internal injuries or death. Target has received one report of a magnet falling off a game piece, though no injuries have been reported. These games consist of a 10 x 10 inch plywood board with nine "X" and "Heart" pieces and were sold at Target stores nationwide from December 2016 through February 2017.

Risk

Detached magnets pose a serious choking hazard to children. If two or more magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other through intestinal walls, causing obstructions, perforations, sepsis, and potentially fatal internal injuries.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop using the recalled Magnetic Tic Tac Toe game and keep it away from children.
  2. Check the bottom right corner of the plywood board for model number 234-25-1089 to confirm your product is affected.
  3. Return the recalled game to any Target store to receive a full refund.
  4. For more information, contact Target at 800-440-0680 between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. CT daily, or visit www.target.com and click on "Recalls" at the bottom of the page.
