Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 1,224,078 Ram pickup trucks, including various 2019-2022 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models. The tailgates on these vehicles may not latch properly because the striker components are misaligned, which can cause the tailgate to fly open unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion. Dealers will inspect the alignment between the tailgate striker and the box latch and perform necessary adjustments free of charge.

Risk

If the tailgate opens while you are driving, any unsecured cargo in the truck bed could fall out onto the road. This creates a significant hazard for other motorists and increases the risk of a crash.
