Swaddle Bee Recalls Children's Security Blankets Due to Choking Hazard (Recall Alert)

Summary

Swaddle Bee is recalling approximately 700 Loviebee children's security blankets because the metal snaps used to attach the blanket can detach. These detached snaps pose a choking hazard to infants. The recalled blankets were sold in four color combinations (blue/gray, blue/white, pink/gray, and pink/white) with a minky fabric on one side and velour on the other. Swaddle Bee has received two reports of snaps detaching, though no injuries have been reported. Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact Swaddle Bee for a full refund.

Risk

The metal snaps on the blanket's attachment straps can break off or detach. If a snap comes loose, an infant can swallow it, which poses a serious choking hazard.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your security blanket to see if it is a Swaddle Bee Loviebee measuring approximately 16 inches by 16 inches with two attachment straps and metal snaps.
  2. Verify the 'Swaddle Bee' logo on the sewn-on tag attached to one corner of the blanket and look for blue/gray, blue/white, pink/gray, or pink/white color combinations.
  3. Immediately stop using the recalled blanket and take it away from children.
  4. Contact Swaddle Bee at 800-643-7044 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Sunday through Thursday, or email swaddlebeerecall@gmail.com to receive a full refund.
  5. Visit www.swaddlebee.com and click on 'Product Recalls' at the bottom of the page for additional information.
