PACCAR Incorporated is recalling approximately 15,658 Peterbilt 320 and 520 refuse trucks from model years 2015 through 2023. These vehicles are equipped with Haulmaax/EX suspensions where the tracking rod brackets can fail and detach from the axle. Dealers will inspect the suspension welds and install an additional reinforcement bracket between the tracking rod bracket and axle housing free of charge.
If the tracking rod bracket fails and detaches from the forward drive axle, the axle can become unstable. This instability significantly decreases vehicle control and stability, which increases the risk of a crash.
