Summary

SuperATV is recalling about 10,700 carrier bearings used in Polaris RZR XP Turbo and Turbo S recreational off-road vehicles. When installed, if the fuel tank expands, it can rub against the drive shaft, potentially causing the tank to crack or puncture. This can lead to gasoline leaks and vehicle fires. SuperATV has received 24 reports of the fuel tank making contact with the prop shaft, including 19 reports of holes or cracks in the tank and one reported fire. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should stop using vehicles with these bearings and contact SuperATV for a free replacement.

Risk

The drive shaft can strike and puncture the fuel tank if the tank expands, leading to gasoline leaks that pose immediate fire and burn hazards to the driver and passengers. There has been at least one reported fire caused by this defect.
