Summary

Britax has recalled approximately 216,000 B-Agile, B-Agile Double, and BOB Motion strollers because the folding mechanism can cause severe finger injuries. The recall includes various colors such as black, red, kiwi, sandstone, navy, and orange manufactured between March 2011 and June 2013. Britax has received eight incident reports, including one partial fingertip amputation, one broken finger, and several severe lacerations. Consumers should stop using these strollers immediately and contact Britax to receive a free repair kit.

Risk

The hinge on the folding mechanism can pinch or trap fingers when a user presses the release button while pulling the release strap. This action can lead to partial fingertip amputation, broken fingers, or deep cuts.

What You Should Do

  1. Locate the manufacturing label on the inside of the stroller's metal frame near the right rear wheel to identify the model number and manufacture date (YYYY/MM/DD).
  2. Check if your stroller matches the following model numbers: U341763, U341764, U341782, or U341783 (B-Agile); U361818 or U361819 (B-Agile Double); or U391820, U391821, or U391822 (BOB Motion).
  3. Verify that the manufacture date falls between March 2011 and June 2013.
  4. If your stroller is affected, stop using it immediately and keep it out of reach of children.
  5. Contact Britax at 866-204-1665 between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday, or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, to receive a free repair kit.
