Summary

BMW of North America is recalling approximately 982 vehicles, including various 2024-2025 5-Series (530i, 540i), i5, 7-Series (740i, 760i, 750e), and i7 models. The steering spindle in these vehicles may break, which can suddenly make the vehicle much harder to steer. Owners should contact an authorized BMW center to have the steering spindle's double universal joint replaced for free.

Risk

If the steering spindle breaks while driving, the driver will experience a sudden increase in the effort required to turn the wheel, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.
