Summary

Sportspower has expanded its previous recall to include approximately 120,000 BouncePro 14' trampolines featuring black tetlon enclosure netting. The netting surrounding the trampoline can break during use, which has resulted in nine reports of breakage and five injuries, including broken bones and back and neck injuries. These trampolines were sold exclusively at Walmart stores between February 2009 and March 2011. Sportspower is providing replacement enclosure netting to affected consumers.

Risk

The enclosure netting designed to contain jumpers can deteriorate and break, allowing children to fall through the netting and hit the ground or the trampoline frame. This has led to reports of serious injuries including bone fractures and contusions.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop using the Sportspower BouncePro 14' trampoline if it is equipped with brown or black tetlon enclosure netting.
  2. Check the leg of the trampoline frame for a plate printed with 'Sportspower BouncePro 14' and model number TR-1686-TPR.
  3. Verify the UPC code on the original product box if available; affected codes are 687064045552 and 687064042100.
  4. Contact Sportspower toll-free at 866-370-2131 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday to receive a free replacement enclosure netting.
  5. You can also request a replacement online at www.sportspowerltd.net by clicking on 'Recall Information' at the bottom of the page, or by emailing customerservice@sportspowerltd.net.
