Summary

Autocar, LLC is recalling 104 of its 2023-2025 ACTT (Xspotter) vehicles due to a software error that allows the vehicle to bypass its speed governor. This defect means the vehicles fail to meet federal safety standards for electronic stability control on heavy vehicles. To fix this issue, authorized dealers will provide a free software update for the vehicle and the drive motor.

Risk

If the vehicle exceeds 33 mph due to the software error, the driver may experience a loss of handling and control, which significantly increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking if it is an Autocar ACTT (Xspotter) manufactured between 2023 and 2025.
  2. Contact an authorized Autocar dealer to schedule a free update for your vehicle and drive motor software.
  3. For further assistance, contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 and reference recall number ACTT-2402.
  4. Contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
