Summary

South Coast Baking Co. is recalling approximately 1,096 cases of its 12-inch Chocolate Chip Cookie Cakes because the product may contain loose particles of CPET plastic. The manufacturer was notified by a packaging supplier that plastic particles could have become imbedded in the finished baked goods during the packaging process. These cookie cakes were distributed to two customers in California and North Carolina and are sold in 36-pound cases containing 25 units each. Consumers who have purchased these products should not consume them and should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Risk

Loose particles of CPET plastic from the product tray may have become embedded in the cookies. If consumed, these hard plastic fragments pose a potential choking hazard or risk of injury to the mouth, throat, or digestive tract.
