Summary

Shenzhen Elephant Outdoor Information Technology Inc. (dba Elepdv) is recalling about 11,710 Somgem and Yomin novelty lighters sold on Amazon.com. These lighters, shaped like a pink pig and a white toilet, do not have the mandatory child-resistant mechanisms required for cigarette lighters. While no injuries have been reported, consumers can receive a full refund by disabling the lighter and sending a photo to the company.

Risk

The lighters lack child-resistant safety features, allowing children to easily ignite them. This creates a serious risk of accidental fires and severe burn injuries or death.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop using the recalled Somgem Pink Pig and Yomin Toilet lighters.
  2. Identify your product: Look for a pink pig-shaped lighter (approximately 1.18 inches tall) with the ignition on top, or a white toilet-shaped lighter (3 inches tall) with a bottle opener on the bottom and a cap on the tank.
  3. To receive a full refund, disable the lighter and write the word "Recalled" on it in permanent marker.
  4. Take a clear photo of the disabled lighter with the "Recalled" text visible and email it to Elepdv at elepdv@163.com.
  5. Dispose of the disabled lighters in accordance with your state and local hazardous waste disposal procedures.
  6. Call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 for additional questions regarding this recall.
