Summary

Midwest Fire is recalling 11 of its 2021-2022 All-Poly Series fire trucks that are equipped with a split-shaft transmission. The Class1 Es-Key multiplex system software in these vehicles may fail, which prevents the truck from shifting between road mode and pump mode. Midwest Fire will provide the necessary hardware and instructions to reprogram the software free of charge.

Risk

If the vehicle cannot shift into pump mode, it will be unable to deliver water during an emergency. This failure can significantly delay emergency response times, increasing the risk of injury to both responders and the public.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your fleet includes 2021-2022 All-Poly Series fire trucks equipped with a split-shaft transmission.
  2. Contact Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair Company customer service at 1-800-344-2059 to confirm if your specific vehicle is included in the 11 affected units.
  3. Obtain the reprogramming hardware and instructions from Midwest Fire, which will be provided free of charge to resolve the software issue.
