Summary

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling approximately 2,025 vehicles, including several 2024 models of the CLE-Class and E-Class, due to a software error in the MBUX multimedia system. This error can cause important safety features, such as the cross-traffic alert and automatic emergency braking, to deactivate without warning. Mercedes-Benz dealers will update the vehicle software and parking control unit settings free of charge to resolve the issue.

Risk

The software error may prevent the vehicle from automatically applying the brakes during a cross-traffic situation, significantly increasing the risk of a collision or crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is one of the affected 2024 models: CLE 300 (Convertible/Coupe), CLE 450 (Convertible/Coupe), E 350, E 450 (Sedan/Station Wagon), or AMG CLE 53 Coupe.
  2. Contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to schedule a free appointment to have your MBUX multimedia system software and parking control unit settings updated.
