Summary

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America is recalling 244 Rizon trucks from the 2024 and 2025 model years. A software error in the electrical control unit can occur while the truck is idling, which may prevent the vehicle from being driven. Authorized dealers will reprogram the battery management system and DC-Box software free of charge to resolve the issue.

Risk

The software error can leave the vehicle unable to move as needed. This unexpected inability to drive the vehicle increases the risk of a crash, particularly if the vehicle becomes immobilized in traffic.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your truck is one of the affected models: 2024 Rizon FEC7K (E16), 2024 Rizon FEC9K (E18), or 2025 Rizon FECXK (E18).
  2. Visit NHTSA.gov beginning March 16, 2026, to search your specific Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and confirm if your vehicle is included in this recall.
  3. Contact an authorized Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA) dealer to schedule a free software reprogramming for the battery management system and DC-Box.
  4. If you have further questions, contact MFTA customer service at 1-877-711-0707 and reference recall number C10136.
  5. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
