Summary

Sofina Foods Inc. is recalling approximately 15,165 pounds of ready-to-eat Mastro Mortadella deli meat products. The recall was initiated after a customer discovered pistachio nuts in a regular mortadella product while slicing it. The product contains pistachio (tree nuts) which is not declared on the label, posing a risk to people with allergies. These items were shipped to distribution centers for use in retail delis and foodservice locations in several states.

  1. Check your product for the following identifiers: product code 10307 (lot BE170418 or BE170560) or product code 21130 (lot BE170422 or BE170668).
  2. Look for the Canada establishment number '224' on the case box and specific 'BEST BEFORE' dates: 2023 JL 27, 2023 AU 02, or 2023 AU 08.
  3. If you have a pistachio allergy, do not consume these products; return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund, throw it away, or contact the manufacturer for further instructions.
  4. Deli and foodservice locations should stop serving the affected mortadella immediately.
