Summary

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling approximately 339,404 vehicles, including certain 2020-2021 Pilot and Ridgeline models, and 2020-2022 Passport and Odyssey models. The heating pads located behind both side-view mirrors may not be bonded correctly, which can cause the mirror glass to detach from the housing. This defect means the vehicles do not meet federal visibility requirements, and Honda dealers will replace both the left and right side-view mirrors free of charge to resolve the issue.

Risk

If the mirror glass detaches while driving, it significantly reduces the driver's rear visibility, which increases the risk of a crash or collision.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is one of the affected models: 2020-2021 Honda Pilot, 2020-2021 Honda Ridgeline, 2020-2022 Honda Passport, or 2020-2022 Honda Odyssey.
  2. Contact an authorized Honda dealer to schedule a free appointment to have both your left and right side-view mirrors replaced.
  3. If you have questions, contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 and reference recall number FE5.
  4. For additional information, you can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
