Summary

Hyundai Motor America is recalling approximately 568,576 model year 2020-2025 Hyundai Palisade vehicles. The side curtain air bags designed to protect passengers in the third row may not deploy correctly during a collision. This defect means the vehicles fail to meet federal safety standards for ejection mitigation, which are designed to keep occupants inside the vehicle during a crash. Hyundai is currently developing a remedy for this issue and will send notification letters to owners.

If the side curtain air bags deploy improperly, they may not provide the necessary protection for third-row occupants, significantly increasing the risk of injury or ejection during a crash.
