2020-2023 Lincoln Aviator and Corsair Recalled for Seat Belt Warning Issue

Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 4,442 Lincoln Aviator and Lincoln Corsair vehicles from the 2020-2023 model years. These vehicles are equipped with a Revel Audio System and were previously repaired incorrectly under a different recall. In the affected vehicles, the seat belt warning chime may only sound for less than four seconds when the driver is unbelted and the vehicle is started, which is too short to meet safety standards. Dealers will provide a free software update for the audio control module to fix the issue.

Risk

The seat belt warning chime may not sound long enough to properly alert the driver that their seat belt is unfastened. If a driver or passenger is not buckled during a crash, they face a significantly higher risk of serious injury or death.
