Summary

Nova Bus (US) Inc. is recalling approximately 1,570 vehicles, specifically certain 2010-2020 LFS Artic and 2012-2024 LFS bus models. The driver's seat belt in these vehicles may fail to retract properly, which means they do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 209 for seat belt assemblies. Nova Bus will provide and install additional seat stoppers to the driver's rear partition free of charge to resolve the issue.

Risk

A seat belt that does not retract correctly can lead to a loose fit on the driver, which significantly increases the risk of injury during a vehicle crash as the restraint system cannot function as intended.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle records to determine if you own a 2010-2020 LFS Artic or a 2012-2024 LFS vehicle manufactured by Nova Bus (US) Inc.
  2. Even if your vehicle was previously serviced under recall 23V-350, you must contact a Nova Bus authorized service provider to have this new remedy completed.
  3. Nova Bus will install additional seat stoppers to the driver's rear partition, free of charge. Nova's internal reference number for this recall is CR5635.
  4. Watch for an official owner notification letter, which is expected to be mailed by July 4, 2025.
  5. Contact Nova Bus customer service or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for further assistance.
