Summary

General Motors is recalling approximately 338 of its 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV vehicles because the second-row center seat belt may have an incorrect bezel. This defect can cause the seat belt to damage or tear during a crash, which means it may not properly restrain a passenger. Dealers will replace the seat belt bezel for the second-row center seat free of charge to resolve this safety issue.

Risk

In the event of a crash, the incorrect bezel can act as a sharp edge that cuts or tears the seat belt fabric. If the belt fails, the occupant in the center seat will not be properly restrained, significantly increasing the risk of serious injury or death.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop allowing any passengers to sit in the second-row center seat of your 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV until the vehicle has been repaired.
